It’s that somewhere special offering hotel style, quality en-suite bed and breakfast accommodation with a relaxed country house ambience just a short stroll to the sea and central to Torbay.  The listed former Dowagers House to the Cockington Court estate was converted to a hotel and is now tastefully refurbished to provide eight individual en-suite bedrooms with baths or showers, sunny breakfast room, elegant guest lounge, cosy bar, Victorian walled gardens and parking.  The 450 acres of Cockington Country Park and its preserved thatched village are situated well away from the hustle and bustle of Torbay but within easy reach of central Torquay—either a level 30 minute walk or a few minutes by car the village also has its own minibus service to/from Torquay. Our award winning Guest House lies just moments from the beautiful south Devon Coastline, on the edge of the unspoilt South Hams district and close to Dartmoor. The Park allows you free access to enjoy the miles of nature walks or browse the craft centre before taking a relaxing ride on a horse drawn Victorian carriage and indulging in a Devon cream tea in a choice of Tearooms.  In the evenings eat at the village’s famous thatched tavern, the Drum Inn, designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens. A little further afield enjoy the excellent food South Devon has to offer from our personal recommendations: great pub food, sea food bistros or even Michelin Stars right on our doorstep. Lanscombe House is the perfect base to explore South Devon and the South hams area, from the numerous tourist attractions to the unspoilt coastline, countryside and the wilds of Dartmoor.
